Paintings Become Part of Permanent Collection at
New Sacred Heart Medical Center

It was an honor to have "Blossomland" and "Metolius Walk" chosen to be part of a specifically healing atmosphere at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Eugene. The art acquisition was handled by American Art Resources in Houston, Texas, who specialize in art that promotes healing in medical settings. I will have a show up at the RiverBend/Sacred Heart campus Sept. 30-Nov. 30 2008.

Double Vision
Opens August 1, 2008
During First Friday Gallery Walk
at Tumalo Art Co. in
Downtown Bend
runs through August

Tracy Leagjeld, my partner at Tumalo Art Co. and good friend, present a show of our complementary work, sharing the focus gallery.

We've enjoyed putting this show together and have made some forays out to paint plein air. Painting onsite in nature is always an experience. The bugs, the heat, the...BEAUTY! It's an amazing learning time.

Shown below is a pastel of Paulina Falls from our first trip. Deciding which way to go in Central Oregon is the main problem as every direction affords dramatic landscapes.

Please come see our show, and if you can't make it in August, we always have work up at TAC.

Graeagle Afternoon
New print

Every year my husband's family meets in Graeagle, CA for the 4th of July. This year I was able to bring a new image of the distinctively quaint downtown of this historical mill town. The mill houses now have cute shops including Red House Art, a great gallery where I show my paintings of the Sierra's. We are now offering the scene as a Limited Edition giclee print.

"In the Beginning", soft pastel. This painting will be the cornerstone of my August show at Tumalo Art Co. in Bend, OR.

The mighty Deschutes River begins like a whisper, flowing out of Little Lava Lake in the High Cascades. Surrounded by marsh and dragonflies, light and shadow, the river begins it's journey. The Deschutes River has many faces and all are amazingly beautiful.

I am fascinated by the beginnings of rivers. The Metolius River bubbles out from underwater springs, crystal clear. No one knows exactly how or where the water travels. The McKenzie River begins at Clear Lake whose source is a spring as well. Not too far down river from its beginning it once again goes subterranean only to come back up in a huge tranquil pool and go on its way. These places have a spiritual, reverent quality. In some ways they're even anti-climatic, reminding us that powerful things sometimes begin quietly.

Interpreting nature's beauty with color and pattern in both soft pastel and acrylic on canvas is my passion. Flashing  FISH underwater and blackbirds, geese, herons and other  BIRDS (even some butterflys) catch my eye. They are mysterious...fascinating and live in a world we can't enter, only observe and dream of. And, of course, the dramatic LANDSCAPE that surrounds me is a source of constant inspiration.

Now in our 3rd year!
